Fruit Jars

FJ001 Beaver Ame 1/2 Gal Yellow

Minimum Bid: $3000

Range:$4000-6000

Sold: $14500

We are pleased to offer this outstanding Beaver American 1/2 gal. The colour is a strong yellow amber. This jar is blown from a very heavy pour, so the glass is thick and the jar is quite heavy. The glass has perfect clarity with no stain and a ton of character with many small bubbles. Mint condition. Not a scratch. Standard orange amber beaver type glass insert - also mint. An important stunning Beaver jar. If you own just one fruitjar, you can do no better than this one.

FJ002 Hamilton No 4 Corker

Minimum Bid: $2000

Range:$3000-4000

Sold: $3650

The Hamilton corker style jars are relatively scarce, when compared with the clamp type. The No 4 Hamilton is the Holly Grail of the corker style jars. Incredibly rare, these just about never come to market. It has been 20+ years since I have seen one of these jars go up for auction. This example is fresh to market from an old Ontario collection. Near mint condition. 1/4" annealing star left side front. Clearly an in-manufacturing mark. Perfect lip and base edge. Light internal stain. Hammer whittled glass with tons of character! A rare oppotunity to add one of Canada's best jars to your shelf.

FJ003 Canada Compass Pint Sediment Amber

Minimum Bid: $750

Range:$1200-1500

Sold: $800

An exceptional Canada Compass pint in sediment amber coloured glass. Mint condition. Pale aqua coloured glass insert with a great amber swirl. Insert is also mint. A killer example of this rare coloured midget. I have had a couple of questions about the colour of this jar. The colour in the photos is accurate. The glass of the jar is a bright green, which is often referred to as sediment amber by collectors. Compare with the standard aqua of the Improved Jams FJ21 & 22.

FJ006 Erie Midget Pint

Minimum Bid: $600

Range:$1000-1200

Sold: $1500

A midget pint size Erie jar in pale aqua coloured glass. Near mint condition. Tiny imperfection just to the left of the "E" in Erie, clearly in-manufacturing. Tiniest wisp of internal stain. Heavy pour. Perfect ground lip. ERIE marked on the base. A fabulous example of this rare midget pint. The photo of this one does not do it justice. There is a faint bit of internal stain that picks up reflections in the window. In normal light, this jar appears near perfect.

FJ007 Erie Ame 1/2 Gal

Minimum Bid: $150

Range:$200-300

Sold: Not

An American 1/2 gal Erie jar in pale aqua coloured glass. When this jar was poured, it looks like the glass kissed the front of the mould twice, distorting the embossing. The word "ERIE" on the front is very light. The trademark appears double-stamped. Near mint condition. Great glass clarity with no stain. Roughly ground lip with a number of flakes. ERIE on base. Matching ERIE type glass insert. The insert is heavily stained. An excellent example of this scarce 1/2 gal Erie jar.
