Ontario Ginger Beers

GB001 McLaughlin - Toronto

Minimum Bid: $500

Range:$800-1000

Sold: $500

This J.J. McLaughlin ginger beer is one of my absolute favourites. An iconic Canadian soda water company, coupled with an extremely rare and beautiful Canadian ginger beer bottle made by the Brantford Stoneware Co. Transferred front and back. Great rendition of the McLaughlin mortar and pestle trademark. Only a handful of these bottles exist. This one is in excellent condition. As with most Brantford bottles, this one is heavily crazed. 5" hairline down the front face right and a 1" hairline on the neck left side. Let the photos be your guide. Original marked and matching stopper. This is the one pictured in the book.

GB002 Atkinson - Guelph

Minimum Bid: $150

Range:$200-300

Sold: Not

A scarce example of the two tone W. Atkinson Guelph. A rare Brantford Stoneware type bottle. This one sadly lost its head (in shipping) and we had it professionally restored. So the neck and blob are original, just expertly reattached.

GB004 Robertson - St. Catharines

Minimum Bid: $100

Range:$150-200

Sold: $100

The variant of the Thomas Robertson St. Catharines with the "O.T.G.B" at centre; this likely stands for "Old Time Ginger Beer." This is a tough bottle to find in good condition. Most are damaged and/or restored. This example is one of the best I have seen. Potstone base edge front. Tiny flea bite out of the blob edge. A bit of light body wear. Great looking example of a scarce Ontario ginger beer.
